Underground Inc. Underground Inc. is a podcast that’s just like watching a movie with your friends! Fire up the movie & let Billy & Ben discuss fun facts & stuff!

January 24, 2017

This episode is Discussion Salsa as chunky as a zombie’s braincase.

Wicked visual, Right? Hah!

Right out of the gate the Underground Inc. crew rips into the question “Who should narrate your life?”, and some of the answers are Charleton Heston, Vincent Price and Kevin Conroy! Other gems of subject matter include Computer Generated Nipples and What To Do If Godzilla Attacked.

While Chris Redfield is completely absent of this film, it’s still a pretty  damn entertaining horror/thriller. The laser-grid trap is Unforgettable as an on-screen take down. The dude [Colin Salmon] gets friggin’ CUBED!!! So. Sick.

Well after the guys get finished with the discussion of Gnarly Narrators, we begin our film countdown at 13 minutes and eleven seconds, give or take a Richard Pryor.

Some of the Films/Television Shows Discussed:

The Frisco Kid (Gene Wilder and Harrison Ford!)

Nymphomaniac (not “necrophilia”) [anti-penetrating underwear]

Even Steven’s

Predators (no, that is not Michelle Rodriguez)

Machete (Yes, that is Michelle Rodriguez)

I Am legend

Last Man on Earth

Omega Man (“Damn you dirty [insert evyl”])

S.W.A.T.

Ironclad

A Knight’s Tale

Orange is the New Black

The Arrow T.V. show

……..And many more!

So come join us Crazy Kats at Underground Inc. and hang out Resident-Evil-Style!

January 17, 2017

One of January's new releases is xXx: The Return of Xander Cage, so we at Underground Inc. decided to catch up with the original xXx.

I'm not sure if it needed to be a 2 hour movie...but hey, the stuntmen in this flick deserve some MAJOR credit, as the film actually used Stuntmen and didn't just CGI the crap out of the violence-fest that is this film.

The writing wasn't bad, wasn't great, but it pushed the plot along, so it did its job. Vin, was as always, Vin, and deep-voiced-flexed his way through a pretty entertaining action flick, with definite roots in the Spy Movie greats.

All in all, an alright movie, with an alright cast, and an impossible-to-internet-search-title.

Did you know Donnie Yen's going to be in the new xXx?

January 10, 2017

January of 2017 is an over stylized, over the top, Action/Horror month with a new Underworld, a new (and last) Resident Evil and (not so much Horror) xXx film so why not throw in another film from the same era?

That's right, we talked to Kate Beckinsale (and her booty) and she agreed to come back for the second week in a row in a Vampire/Werewolf thriller.

Honestly, we all kind of wish this spawned a new Universal Monster franchise even if that is an unpopular decision.

This week, The Podcast Arcade did a 24 hour podcast for Siena/Francis Homeless Shelter in Omaha in which Billy and Ben participated.

Billy staying up over 36 hours and Ben coming in after a nice night of sleep. We started off our part with the Black Friday classic Jingle all the Way. We recorded this live in Scooters and there is even a Facebook Live video to go with it, which can be found on our site or on our Facebook page.

We hope you enjoy this movie as much as we did and that you don't beat each other up too bad this holiday shopping season.

You better start packing your bags. Grab some extra money for hotdogs and cracker jacks. Every person who listens to this episode has won Underground Inc.'s grand prize. You are all going to The 2016 World Series!

Underground Inc. is doing it's very first series of sports films. With the recent World Series baseball games, we figured it would be perfect timing to watch the movies about the teams who played this year. First up to bat are the Cleveland Indians with quite possibly the greatest sports film of all time, Major League.

We are sadly concluding our Halloween season of watching Tim Burton Christmas movies. Just like Frosty or the Great Pumpkin, it will be back at some point but until then, enjoy the ultimate Halloween/Christmas collaboration of Underground Inc. and The Nightmare Before Christmas.

With the movie being shorter than usual, we didn't get to talk about the film and it's important elements as much we would have liked to but there's still a lot to get out of it. Join Billy, Ben, Jack, Sally and the rest of the gang as we go through the Hinterlands (the Holiday trees) of Halloween Town, Christmas Town, Easter Town (when the Oogie Boogie kids accidentally steal the Easter Bunny) and... St. Patrick's Day Town?

For this episode we went fishing into all of Tim Burton's films and pulled out one Big Fish.

William Bloom: You know about icebergs, Dad?
Edward Bloom (senior): Do I? I saw an iceberg once. They were haulin' down it down to Texas for drinkin' water. They didn't count on there bein' a elephant frozen inside. The wooly kind. A mammoth.
William Bloom: Dad!
Edward Bloom (senior): What?
William Bloom: I'm tryin' to make a metaphor here.
Edward Bloom (senior): Well, you shouldn't have started with a question, because most people wanna answer questions. You should've started with "the thing about iceberg is"

You ever had one of those friends who is a one upper? Always telling fantastical stories that you know can't be true? Even in a moment that is meant to be your own?
Well that was William Bloom's whole life. His dad always told these fantastic stories but he never really felt like he knew who his dad was. After 3 years(a significant time in this story) of not talking to his dad William goes on a journey through time, imagination, and old fashioned looking through papers in the garage to figure out who his dad was before his dad's time is up.
It is a real feel good movie that left us thinking of our friend Jeff and how he left more smiles then tears in the end.

Such a beautifully made and told story. It's a modern day Frankenstein. So loved and then cause of one little incident, hated.

The tones of the film are an interesting look at society from the perspective of both Edward and the Suburbanites (that sounds like a band name) as things are bright and colorful for Edward and things get drama filled and gossipy for the folks of Townsville.

This is one of Billy's all time favorite movies so you can hear him gush all over it.

Enjoy another riveting look into Underground's Tim Burton Christmas Halloween Extravaganza!
